Our Ali Asghar Water Appeal aims to provide not only safe drinking water to those who are deprived of clean water sources but also focuses on providing sustainable water relief to families and individuals in low-income and poor socio-economic villages. This includes building sanitary washrooms and hand pump facilities in underprivileged areas.
Last year, our teams identified 25 villages in the Badin District of Pakistan that were in urgent need of proper sanitation facilities. The existing washroom practices of pit form latrines in disadvantaged villages contribute to water-borne disease and poor standards of living.
Your donations to our Ali Asghar Water Appeal allowed us to construct 50 safe and sanitary washrooms and install hand pumps across the 25 villages in the Badin District. With 790 families living in the local area, this initiative is providing 3,150 residents with sanitary washroom and water pump facilities.
